Two of the images feature Comer in a new look, one that speaks to the harsh conditions of post-apocalyptic life. She was seen running in one and looking rather menacingly at the camera in the other. The other two images offer a look at two younger actors from the production, with Boyle pictured chatting with them in one. The older of the two male actors is dressed in full military gear, and the NATO patch on his arm identifies him as a character named E. Sundqvist.
Things could be very different 28 years from now
The timeline of the sequel opens up so many possibilities
For years after its release 28 weeks later, which was not as well received as its predecessor, there were reports of a potential third film. This movie, at the time, probably would have been 28 months later, which would have presented a version of Great Britain more than two years after the outbreak of the virus. Jumping instead to 28 years later, Garland and Boyle took the liberty to bring a very different setting to life.

28 years later, casting risks wasting a 17-year franchise cliffhanger
Cast details for the horror sequel 28 years later indicate that the franchise could be wasting a major cliffhanger in the series.
With Murphy reprising his role, this new timeline makes more sense than 28 months later as it has been 22 years since audiences last saw the actor in the role of Jim. The fact that almost three decades have passed since the outbreak of the virus means THE 28 days later the protagonist could be very different from how he was in the first film. Life may have been unkind to him, for example, which could see him become a darker figure. Alternatively, perhaps Jim has found some measure of peace and 28 years later it’s about how things fall apart again.
The inclusion of a NATO soldier in 28 years later The set photos suggest that Britain was unable to independently achieve order, reflecting a key story 28 weeks later. Three decades is certainly a lot of time to live for the uninfected to deteriorate, and the drastic evolution of the story world will help the new film feel fresh and surprising. Murphy has not yet been spotted in 28 years later set photos, but with production underway, it could only be a matter of time.
